Granada
is a vibrant university city that is well know for it beauty, its
history, and for its culture and nightlife. It has stunning surroundings
including the Sierra Nevada, and Sierra de Huétor which sit over
Granada like a movie set backdrop.
Many people only associate Spain with sand and sun and are surprised to
find that Spain also offers great skiing. And you are right about the
sun - the ski fields above Granada are known to have more sunny days and
the less lose of ski days due to bad weather - in the whole of Europe!
The Sierra Nevada is Spain's number one skiing location with reputably
the best snow and the longest season in the country. One can look
forward to five months of snow. Sierra Nevada has 61km of ski slopes
with 45 pistes and 6 off-piste routes. There are 2 cable cars, 12 chair
lifts and 5 ski lifts. The ski resort is open from 9am to 5pm although
you can ski at night at weekends and bank holidays. Night skiing
was introduced in 1994 with lighting along the El Rio slope (3km/545
vertical drop).
We like our students, to make the most of this spectacular scenery and
one of the best ways to do this is high on the slopes enjoying yourself
skiing.
Join us, our teachers, and ski the slopes only 30 minutes from the
centre of Granada. Learn Spanish and have a unforgettable time
skiing and snowboarding as you enjoy the wonderful city of Granada. |
